A dramatic end to the year 2017 saw Gardens Commercial High School in the 4th term, without their former Headmaster, Mr Janse Van Rensburg.
After 24-years in Education, he resigned his post.
His decision left behind a moment of intense apprehension about the way forward for the Gardens family.
A fierce debate between learners and staff on who would be taking the reins, came to a halt with much relief, when Mr Tommy (Deputy Principal), announced that he had been appointed to the Principal’s post.
The news thrilled everyone knowing that with Mr Tommy’s capabilities of professionalism and supporting and caring leadership style that we were ultimately in “safe hands”.
Since then … 2018, has had many exciting surprises. We have experienced a radical turn around in; positive discipline and positive behaviour, in a positive learning environment.
Learners are cooperating and advancing the vision, mission and goals of the school. We are excited and set to improving the system and “school-world” for everyone!
We would like to congratulate Mr Tommy on this accomplishment and are glad to be looking up to him as our new “PAPA SMURF.” We wish him luck and are looking forward to the remaining years we have left, to spend it with him.
